with people walking away for the east hide area
saying no show for 4 hours
so we walked and joined others
after a bit of time a gent started clicking away
and called us over yep the Spotted Crake arrive
on its run across the open area to the near reed bed
1 hour of it showing on & off before it ran off again
best views ever for me and a lifer for Jake.
then a honey buzzard & hen Harrier drifted high over.

ReplyDeleteAs you know i waited nearly 4 hours on Friday. It then appeared around quarter to 3 and by ten to four it shot up the channel on the left and I went home. Seems to have a regular habit of early mornings and afternoons at the moment. Good views though and a cracking bird. Just very difficult to get a clean shot.
