Orchids are out !!

sea watch at selsey bill was slow so me & matt went for some sussex orchids
most are my first time l have seen them so 8 differant orchids is great for me
in one day.. with a old early-purple orchid,bird's-nest orchid,
greater butterfly-orchid,white Helleborine,Fly orchid,common spotted-orchid,
Musk orchid,common Twayblade,

frog firle

14 differant skippers large ,dingy,grizzled,
large white,small white,green-veined white,

ashdown forest

Me & John
Headed to Ashdown Forest today and the bird are every were you
look this time of year feeding young and in family groups.
Buzzard,Kestrel,G S woodpecker,Stonechat,Crossbill,
Willow warbler,ChiffChaff, Wren,Blackbird,Magpie,
Carrion crow,Jackdaw,Linnit,Redpoll,Woodlark,
Redstart,Goldcrest,Stock Dove,Wood Pigeon,Jay,
Chaffinch, Goldfinch,Blue tit, Great tit, Long-tailed tit,

Arlington reservoir and Firle

watched house martins building a nest on the post office


no sign of the spotted flycatcher today at firle.
Then off to Arlington res.
started with 3 grey wagtails & a pied wagtail, 7 swallow's,2 swift's, 2 dunlin,
2 grey heron, common buzzard, turle dove,2 bullfinch's,spotted flycatcher,wren,
heard a nightingale singing,heard a cuckoo, common whitethroat's by the river,




Then home for lunch..

ashdown forest

Headed to ashdown this evening to see nightjar's
and it was nice to hear them churring and wing clapping
got as close as 20 feet from me.left for home at 10pm

beachy head & abbotts wood & pulborough brook

started  with a spotted flycatcher on the way to beachy head then butterflies at beachy head and on to abbotts wood for pearl-bordered..
