Out at Cuckmere by 7.10am
looking for the Black-necked Grebe
after l got it sitting looking at my pic's
it came closer so more shots as l headed
south l meet another birder that thought
he saw a spoonbill near the 3 Avocet
yep he's right a lovely spoonbill sleeping on the east
side just before the beach then it flow to the west side in the gull field.
lost it after all the gulls went up.
YES my third go for a lifer
second time to Samphire Hoe
three hours in the bitterly cold wind
to see this bluethroat it was a very shy
bird and was lucky to get any pic of it.
thrid time lucky as monday at portland bill.
Then 40 mins late on wednesday at dover.
Happy to see this female.
went to see the Kentish plover at rye
and john was on it straight away it
stayed distant and after walking all around
we headed back and got a second look
but still at a distantce.saw Sandwich terns
and a Wheatear Knot Dunlin Ringed Plover
Avocet Redshank Spotted Redshank
Great to see the Sandwich Terns back at Rye
on the Tern islands with med gulls to
Sky larks all around today found a knot
lots of Golden plover a grey plover & ringed plover
Avocet dunlin all around the salt marsh area.
castle water cetti's singing chiffchaff singing
goldcreast Raven 3 Marsh harrier a peregrine
rock & meadow pipit.
Driving to Selsey bill
l stopped to see one of the Barn Owls
out at Coldwaltham brooks stayed for a hour
then moved on to ferry pool & long pool
saw 2 male bearded tit come in to the reeds.
then got to Selsey bill sea watched for a hour
with not a lot of movement so went to saw the Glossy Ibis
